Meet Inter Milan

The Inter Milan squad were challenged greatly when they were limited to just 10 players following the dismissal to Thiago Motta after 28 minutes. The defense hung on tightly to only allow one goal and give them a 3-2 victory via aggregate. Inter Milan has not won Europe’s premier club since 1965. They will now take on Bayern on may 22nd at Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid. The current 2010 Inter Milan squad features four goaltenders. Francesco Toldo from Italy, Julio Cesar from Brazil, Paolo Orlandoni of Italy and Vid Belec from Slovenia. Eight defenders make up the squad. The defensive specilists consist of Ivan Cordoaba, Javier Zanetti, Lucio, Maicon, Marco Materazzi, Walter Samuel, Cristian Chivu and Davide Santon. Midfielders that play for Inter Milan are Dejan Stankovic, Ricardo Quaresma, Thiago Motta, Wesley Sneijder, Sully Muntari, Rene Krhin, McDonald Mariga, and Esteban Cambiasso. Finally, the forwards for Inter Milan inculude Diego Milito, Goran Pandev, Mario Balotelli and Marko Arnautovic. Javier Zanetti is the current captain of the team, while Ivan Cordoba is the vice-captain.

The head coach of Inter Milan is Jose Mario dos Santos Felix Mourinho. He is 47 years old and originally from Portugal. He played eight years of professional soccer, including trips with Rio Ave, Belenenses, GD Sesimbra and Comercio e Industria. He has spent time since 1996 coaching six different squads, including his first job with Barcelona. He also spent 2004 – 2007 as the coach of Chelsea, where he went 131-18 with 36 draws. As a coach, Mourinho has garnered numerous coaching awards including the UEFA Manager of the Year, as well as Serie A Coach of the Year award. He currently holds a streak of 135 home league matches unbeaten.
